WHAT WE DO
PRO TRIP
Pro trip is one of the premier events for Phi Beta Lambda, bringing together many students and professionals seeking employment and advancement opportunities. PBL organizes a trip to various major cities every semester, taking about 30 members to meet with large corporate companies and local entrepreneurs. Through facility tours and interactive presentations, members have the chance to obtain new professional contacts and learn what careers and companies are available to them in various industries.
COMPETITION
Every single year we participate in Phi Beta Lambda’s National Awards Program, which recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. At the State Leadership Conferences, we compete in events testing our business knowledge and skills. Top state winners are then eligible to compete for national awards at the National Leadership Conference each summer! Check out our results from this year.
PHILANTHROPY
Phi Beta Lambda is currently partnered with March of Dimes, a nationally recognized charity working to end premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality. Our PBL chapter is currently working with the local March of Dimes chapter to raise money for this cause . We also hold multiple events throughout the semester. We participate in Big Event in the Spring, and in previous semesters we have worked with the Bryan Animal Shelter, Crestview Nursing Home, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Brazos Valley Food Bank as well.
FUNDRAISING
Our members organize and participate in fundraising events to help our organization grow every semester. By participating in these events, our members have the opportunity to develop their leadership and ethical business skills. These events help foster strong bonds between members & a welcoming, brotherly environment that makes PBL stand out amongst others. In the past, we have organized many different and successful events including car washes, profit shares, and concessions sales at sporting events!
SOCIAL
Phi Beta Lambda hosts numerous of social events for our members throughout the semester, giving them the chance to make lasting memories and develop a strong sense of brotherhood. There is at least one large event each semester and all socials are completely free to members. Some of our most popular socials include sledding at Mt. Aggie, our annual Thanksgiving potluck, crawfish boils, and football tailgates.
INTRAMURALS
Every semester, our members get together to build friendships and proudly represent our organization on a number of intramural teams. We participate in many different sports including football, volleyball, softball, and basketball.
